Ivy

So last night my beautiful friends and I descended on the Ivy. One of Sydney's most notorious bars for the young, rich and the beautiful.

We got there just after 8pm on a chilly Sydney night. I've only been to the Ivy a few times before and I just absolutely love it.

It is a bar with about three to four split levels. As you walk in your a greeted with a beautiful open courtyard with a tree in the centre covered in fairy lights. All around the outside are bars with different themes. Elegant lounges with high backed arm chairs and heavy velvet drapes can be found in The Den. A sense of total luxury.

The lawn has a grass carpet with french styles sofas, extravagant plants and cabanas give it ultimate summer look all year round.

A number of restaurants, from Sushi, to American style diner to a classic Italian.

The Ivy bar itself has cozy little areas for you and your friends to enjoy the night with drinks, dancing and good music.

Though my favourite part if the whole bar has to be the roof to pool. After its many twists and turns of bars and cubby areas the pool in the summer is the epicentre. Wethers its during the heat of the day or a balmy summers evening, Sydney's guys and girls strip off to their bikinis and boardies to enjoy the cocktails and summer rays.

The pool is not for the faint hearted. You have to be confident as you are on show in front of some of Sydney's hottest bachelor/bachelorettes.

Some famous faces also make an appearance from Rihanna, Russel Brand, Kim Kardashian, Ruby Rose, Miranda Kerr, Erin McNaught and the cast of Underbelly.

You are also able to stay at the Ivy in one of their Penthouse suites. Uber modern and stylish the Penthouses come with its over jacuzzi, stunning bedroom and amazing lounge area. You also get fantastic views of the roof top pool and can even hire out the Penthouse for private functions. Brian McFadden recently shot one of his videos at the Ivy's roof top pool and Penthouse.

So overall verdict? I would say if you are visiting Sydney and want to feel like you are in another little world and want good music then the Ivy is your place. It is defiantly an experience and a must see.

The only problem is it gets so packed out you end up getting pushed around a bit and the dance floor looks a bit like a cattle market. Appearance I give it 10/10 but if you are wanting somewhere a bit more laid back and chilled then it would have to be a 7/10.

Ebay... You either love it or you hate it!

I think I'm a hater!

Even though I made myself a lovely $250 from selling clothes recently, I find the whole process so high maintenance!

First you have to sort all of your items out, postage, how you would prefer the person to pay etc. Once that is all done and you have posted your things for everyone to look at, I then find myself constantly checking every day (or any spare moment I get) to see how many people have viewed my items, who's 'watching' the item and how many people have bid!

I find myself getting a little obsessed!

As it comes into the final minutes of your item selling, I was getting more and more excited. Then I got an email saying "your item has been sold" and another one and another one!

I couldn't believe it! Yes I had a number of ones that didn't make it but who cares I had a couple hundred bucks from selling MY clothes.

I was ecstatic!

However after all that excitement you then have to get the buyers details, wait for them to pay (which can take up to a few minutes or a day or so) then you have to get the correct sized packaging, parcel it up and send it off to the eagerly waiting customer at the other end!

I know it might not sound like much, but when you have about 11 items all going to different people it can get a bit stressful. That's what I thought anyway. And I know that there are people who have been selling and buying on Ebay for years and years. They must have it down to a fine art.

Well done you guys whoever you are! You defiantly put me and my one off stint to shame!

I think after my triumph this time round I'm going to end it on a high! No more Ebaying for me for a very very long time!

Goodbye language. Hello OMG!

In one of my own little worlds today while at work I received an email from a friend. It was just a fast and to the point (catch up) email but in this they used 'OMG!'

In the past I have never really paid attention to these little abbreviations but seeing it today got me thinking. Are we loosing the English language to lazy people who can't be bothered to write full words/sentences?

You could say it all first started when texting came into play and mobiles hit the big scene. Ok yes I will admit that when I was younger I did use stupid abbreviations in messages to friends but as I got older I realised that it didn't help towards my spelling, academically or even verbally! It also didn't look that good in messages or written down.

You hear stories of how kids at school today are so use to using this shortened way of writing/speaking they have now forgotten how to spell correctly in their books. This scares me a bit. Ok maybe not scares but it does worry me.

What are two generations from now going to be like? Are they going to be socially incapable of holding an intellectual conversation or writing in general?

Maybe partly to blame are programs like The Hills, Gossip Girl and so on. (Ok yes I put my hand up and happily admit that I do watch The Hills...guilty!) But I'm not that stupid to pick up their silly little phrases and "OMG did you just see that" rubbish!

It all comes down to laziness and people not willing to make an effort! Embrace the English language!
